What is Smply?

Smply is a preset-first SMP launch kit for a fresh Lifesteal or Economy relaunch: spawn, homes, warps, RTP, hearts, combat tags, market sell, rewards, quests, and one hub GUI. Brand line: "Set up your SMP." Proof: /smply preset lifesteal then /setspawn then /hub.

Do I need a license key?

Yes for paid builds. Set license_key in config.yml. Claim product id SMPLY in Discord (/claim SMPLY), then paste the key. Verification runs on startup. /smply reload does not re-check it.

Platforms

Does Smply support Folia?

Yes. folia-supported: true and a region-safe scheduler. Live-tested targets are Paper 1.20.6, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, and Folia 26.1.2 (Java 21). That is not a claim for every Folia fork or untested future build, including 26.2.

Economy

Is Vault required?

No. Sell reports when no economy provider is available. Auction and shop need Vault to move money. Bounty placement is free until Vault is hooked. With Vault, /bounty set charges the issuer and /bounty cancel refunds unclaimed rows. Install Vault plus an economy plugin when you want paid sell, auction, shop, and bounty charges.

Modules and Settings

Can I disable modules?

Yes. config.yml module flags and the Server Settings GUI both write live overrides. When a module is off, that feature skips work. Listeners stay registered; they do not unregister. Custom recipes unregister. HUD and tablist stop. You do not need Bukkit /reload. Disabled commands return a clear module-disabled message.

Smply vs other plugins

vs EssentialsX

Essentials is a broad command suite. Smply is opinionated SMP launch profiles: /smply preset <name> plus /setspawn. Hearts, combat, and market sell are first-class. Smply does not match 200 Essentials commands and does not import Essentials homes, warps, or economy data. Keep Essentials (or CMI) for economy if you want. Disable its overlapping travel commands so Smply owns /spawn, /home, /warp, /rtp, and /tpa. See Integrations.

vs CMI

CMI is a large, feature-dense suite. Smply is lighter: Lifesteal and Economy presets out of the box, Vanilla+ on first boot. Pair it with WorldGuard, LuckPerms, and your economy plugin rather than expecting one jar to replace every admin tool.

vs TAB

Smply ships a built-in tablist so a solo install looks finished. If you already run TAB, keep it. Leave tablist.defer_to_tab: true and wire %smply_hearts% / %smply_balance_short%. See HUD and Placeholders.

Migration

There is no automatic import of homes, warps, or economy data from Essentials or CMI. Apply a preset, set spawn, run /smply doctor, then invite players. Move legacy homes by hand if you need them.

Storage

  • SQLite is the default. No external database required.
  • MySQL / MariaDB is supported. Test on staging first. Changing storage type needs a full restart.

Honest limits

Smply is not a land-claim plugin, not mcMMO-style skills, and not a clan plugin. Built-in quests are lightweight YAML dailies, not a full quest suite. Auction and shop are lightweight economy helpers, not a dedicated auction-house product. Kits cover starter and rank drops, not a 50-kit CMI replacement. Use WorldGuard or a claims plugin, LuckPerms, and CoreProtect alongside Smply.
