Troubleshooting

Doctor, validate, status paste, and Server Settings.

Use /smply doctor before you invite players. Use /smply status paste when you open a support ticket.

Doctor

/smply doctor

Aliases: /smply checklist, /smply status doctor.

Staff (smply.admin or smply.setup) get a readable launch list: ✓ ready, ! problem, ○ optional. Players without those permissions get a short /hub / /help pointer. The full Doctor GUI stays on /smply admin.

Always checked: spawn set, config validates.

Lifesteal also checks heart rules, HUD {hearts}, combat tag, and logout. Economy checks Vault, sell prices, auction/shop on.

! LuckPerms missing is a likely problem for rank kits. ○ Land protection: none detected is optional. Griefable Lifesteal is valid.

Validate vs doctor

Schema-only. It does not replace doctor. Passing validate does not mean spawn is set or Vault is hooked.

Status paste

/smply status paste

Prints a Discord-ready dump (modules, economy, integrations), then the foundation check. Paste that in tickets with your Paper/Folia version, Java 21 build, Smply version, and active preset.

Shorter live status without the paste block.

Server Settings

/smply admin → Settings is a live ON/OFF desk (modules, travel, hearts, combat, PvP bans, rewards, HUD, extras).

When you turn a module off, that feature stops doing work on the next events. Listeners stay loaded; they skip the disabled module. They do not unregister. Custom recipes unregister. HUD and tablist stop. You do not need Bukkit /reload.

Overrides write to runtime-overrides.yml and merge over bundled YAML.

Season reset

After a SeasonManager wipe:

/smply season reset

Clears Smply auctions, homes, hearts, death bans, bounties, and non-stash-safe kit claims. Pair it with SeasonManager on-end-commands, or set integrations.yml season.reset_on_new_season.

Common fixes

Symptom	What to check
Plugin disabled on boot	license_key in config.yml. /smply reload does not re-check the key. Restart.
/heart does nothing	Heart module off. Apply lifesteal or turn Heart ON in Settings, then /smply reload.
Sell / shop / auction take no money	Vault + economy plugin. /smply doctor.
Bounty set is free	Expected without Vault. With Vault it should withdraw.
TAB and Smply both drawing the list	tablist.defer_to_tab: true and do not enable TAB scoreboard if you want Smply’s sidebar.
Essentials wins /spawn	Disable overlapping Essentials travel commands. See Integrations.
Folia not listed as supported forever	Live-tested through 26.1.2. Do not assume 26.2 until it is listed here.
